Join Us for an Exciting Dragon Boat Racing Event!
Are you ready for an exhilarating day filled with adrenaline-pumping races, camaraderie, and a chance to make a meaningful impact? Mark your calendars for July 6th, 2024, as the Felix Fund presents an exciting Dragon Boat Racing event on the picturesque river Avon in Monkton Park, Chippenham.
Teams of 11 individuals will compete against each other in thrilling timed qualifying races but if your team has more eager participants, you can rotate racers between heats to ensure everyone gets a chance to paddle. Each team will have their own 3mx3m marquee, offering a base camp for strategising and cheering on fellow teammates and also a place to relax and to store any items.
After three qualifying heats, the teams with the fastest times will advance to the highly anticipated Grand Final race. The stakes are high, with the Grand Final team Captains awarded laser-engraved trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Not only that, but every member of the winning team will receive well-deserved winner medals. Team Captains will also be presented with a celebratory bottle of champagne.
For an added layer of excitement, request head-to-head races against colleagues or rival teams from the same sector. This friendly competition will be exciting and get that adrenaline pumping!
Location
Monkton Park, Chippenham offers a beautiful setting for the races, with convenient parking and a children’s play park located nearby. Bring your families along, so they can cheer you on while enjoying the park. Please note that all team members must be 12 years or older and have a minimum height of 130 cms.
How to Book Your Place
To secure your team’s place in this incredible event, a 20% deposit is required. Register by January 31st, and you’ll be eligible for an early bird discount price of just £1000 per team (that’s under £100 per team member – the regular price will be £1200) This offer is available exclusively to the first 12 teams so register early to avoid disappointment. Early registration will give the teams ample time to raise funds and to cover the event’s costs.
