A Gala to Remember
The 20th September 2023 was the date for the latest in a long line of Gala dinners for Felix Fund. The pandemic had drawn a close on all planned events and in particular our 10-year anniversary plans, but we came back with the most amazing evening.
We must extend our gratitude to our Gold Sponsors Kirintec and Silver Sponsors One Global and Leonardo.
Despite horrendous rain and travel issues for some the evening saw about 150 guests arrive at the beautiful Drapers’ Hall, tucked away in the City.
The drinks reception was followed by a formal dinner and a welcome by Felix Fund chairman, Karl Frankland, who went on to introduce the guest speaker. You know who you are and thank you for your company and a very interesting talk. For security reasons we won’t be divulging who this was.
While the duo of Chief Executive Officer, Melanie and Fundraising Manager, Carmen got to grips with the microphone (or not) Carmen just shouted we went from the raffle to the key moment of the evening the live auction.
Many of the auction lots had been donated from various sources and we must send a big thank you to those individuals. Having limited the lots to eight during the planning stages for the evening this number soon grew as at least three people turned up with additions to the auction. It kept the auctioneer on his toes!
With the final tally from the auction reaching £23,000 we can confirm that the evening has raised in excess of £40,000 for Felix Fund. A truly outstanding amount and thank you to everyone who supported us on the night. This will go a long way to helping those in need across all aspects of EOD and Search.
With the buzz and excitement of an enjoyable evening (plus a few drinks) many were asking when the next event might take place. We are looking at a return fixture to The Drapers’ Hall in 2025 so watch this space for a date announcement and make sure if you missed out this time there is always the next one.
