Mindfulness & Awareness
Residential Dashboard Courses
Felix Fund’s Dashboard course has been running since 2015. It was designed to give a greater understanding of what creates stress and overload in both work and personal life and to provide assistance to develop the skills to deal with it. Using an array of relaxing techniques, mindfulness-based practices, and group discussion a host of general life topics are covered and a new understanding on stress, anxiety and mental and physical fatigue are explored.
The course will give you tools and understanding in relation to clearing and focusing the mind, adopting a more positive attitude, and becoming more “present” whilst also looking at dealing with negative self-talk and any potentially resulting anxieties and struggles. It will give you the mindset and practices to take away so as you can be more effective and efficient in your job and life, and thus achieve a greater sense of enjoyment and fulfilment.
“My life has honestly changed. I have no built-up anger and can communicate with my wife without arguments. I am far more considerate of others. It has made such a difference.”
“This is the only course I have ever attended where I paid full attention throughout. No heavy eyelids in the afternoon for the only time in my life! Thank you for this, it has made the world of difference to me and my family.”
If you, a friend, colleague or family member needs help please contact Felix Fund on 07713 752901 or email [email protected]. All enquires will be dealt with in strict confidence.
Onsite Dashboard Training
Following the success of the residential program Felix Fund was approached to run a mini onsite version for serving personnel to be run at their place of work. These stand-alone two-day workshops will not only act as a reminder for those who have already attended the residential course but also provide a taster containing life relevant information for those who have not been able to attend the 4-day long residential course.
The course will include discussions on topics such as poor-quality sleep, how to recognise stress when we are overwhelmed and emotional mood swings in ourselves and others and how to reduce the negative effects of these. There will also be a relaxation session at the end of each day via a guided meditation.
This on-site program is open to all EOD and Search personnel. If after attending this two-day session you wish to attend the residential course, please contact [email protected].
Please note you do NOT have to of attended the onsite day to attend the residential course.
If your unit, regiment, or squadron does not have the time to spare personnel for a week away to attend the full residential course Felix Fund can bring the training to you providing 2-day training courses for up to 20 serving personnel from across all aspects of EOD & Search.
If you want to talk about tailoring this training to the specific needs of your troops contact Felix Fund on 07713 752901 or email [email protected].
The other aspect of Felix Fund’s work is financial assistance to serving personnel, veterans and their dependents, when they find themselves in times of need. This help is wide ranging from hydrotherapy treatment for a former soldier suffering from PTSD and sleep deprivation, a specially adapted buggy for the disabled son of a serving soldier to enable him to start school and go out with his family, and sporting equipment for two former Sappers to allow them to train for and compete in the Invictus Games.
We have also helped with home adaptations for veterans, such as replacement windows, the installation of stairlifts and specialist furniture to ensure they are able to remain in their own homes.
